EDICT: CMS also works with the Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Minority Health and Baylor College of Medicine on a new initiative, Eliminating Disparities in Clinical Trials (EDICT). This program works closely with researchers, providers, and other partners in systematically increasing the representation of minorities and other medically priority populations in clinical trials. This effort will ultimately result in a knowledge base that allows the use of racial/ethnic-specific customized medications and treatment modalities that can decrease racial/ethnic disparities in morbidity and mortality.
